Instead of just trying to keep them alive and happy which gets old, fast, I LOVED having actual goals to work towards in order to unlock the next level. We have enjoyed serving your gaming needs over these past 22 years and thank each and every one of you for being a part of our journey. :( I wanted to try that so badly and the game box still says it's available but then when you try to connect it won't so we searched online and found out it was discontinued years ago. (1995 - 2017) It is with a deep sense of sadness that we announce that has ceased operations as of October 17th, 2017.
The only reason for rating it a 9 instead of a 10 is because they discontinued online play. I have completed every goal and played through every scenerio and spent countless hours playing and having a blast. The actual gameplay is top-notch as always, though. The removal of a real story mode is certainly a detriment. However, the game isn’t as well suited for consoles as previous Sims games were. :( I wanted to try that so badly and the game box still says it's available but then when you try to connect it won't so we searched I loved everything about this game. It does a great job of keeping everything that made The Sims so interesting on the PC.

The only reason for rating it a 9 instead of a 10 is because they discontinued online play. The second game in the series for the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube, The Sims Bustin' Out, successfully expands on the previous game, not only by letting you make a more highly customized computerized.
